Tokyo//Cafe: Lattest in Omotesando

Lattest is in Omotesando. Primarily a cafe but they do occasionally hold events there too.

The first time I went to check it out, I did not actually get any coffee. I didn’t even go in! They were having a yoga event, so I just stood outside and thought about the coffee I could have been drinking, haha.

Anyway, since then I have been multiple times and I have to say it falls into my top 5 cafes.

I only have photos of my drinks as you are not allowed to take photos of anything else. Their website though, has lots of pictures :).

They have a variety of drinks at a reasonable price (400+ yen) such as apple juice, teas, lattes and their signature drink the Lattest (an espresso shot in cold milk). They usually have some kinda of seasonal drinks as well. November’s special is a Raspberry mocha :D. I want to try that!

The interior feels very similar to Streamer Coffee Company, concrete and light woods, kinda urban, which is not surprising as Hiroshi Sawada (Streamer’s producer) was consulted during the production of this cafe.

They are part of the 2nd generation of cafes (think Starbucks, Neros, Costa, Streamer). I hardly ever drink espresso or black coffee from 2nd gen cafes, usually far too bitter and burnt tasty to me.

I usually get a latte, either vanilla or caramel. Apart from the atmosphere and the interior design, one of the many reasons I like this cafe, is that they have soya.

I have also tried their signature drink, the Lattest and I thought it was interesting. If you can and like drinking espresso, you might like this. Initially I enjoyed it but toward the end it became more bitter, and I struggled to finish it. I am still glad I tried it though.

Overall the atmosphere is very relaxing and pleasant. It is a great cafe for grabbing a latte and chatting with friends for a few hours.

What is your favourite seasonal drinks?

Thank you for reading.

  1. I love hot chocolate in winter. Starbucks over here have an almond and honey one but I think it just tastes like a normal hot chocolate? Costa did a honeycombe one last year which was nice too!

  2. Ohh honeycomb sounds amazing!! I wish I could try that one.

At the moment Starbucks have gingerbread latte, snow maple whip something and a cranberry bliss drink. I’ve only had the gingerbread though, as the other two sound so sweet.
